2008 F.I.M. Gold Trophy
TRELOAR & PLAISTED WIN F.I.M. TITLE
Australian champions Darrin Treloar & Justin Plaisted won the prestigious FIM Gold Trophy at Kings Lynn speedway in England and with it the staus of World #1. Australian crews had a clean sweep of the meeting with Rick Howse & Adam Commons finishing second and Dave Bottrell & Ben Pitt third. British champions Gary Jackson & Carl Blyth were next best finishing fourth. 2009 sees the event go to La Reole in the south of France, a move which has already caused controversy as it will mean, for the first time in its history, the event will be run on a grass surface.
