ENTRY FORMS FOR NZ CHAMPS ARE HERE
With about a month to go and only 3 meetings till Jan 11/12 . Would be good to get an idea of whos comming to play on the track and on what dates ..
Meeting 3, Saturday 1st Dec 2007. – Richard Jones
Once again a big field of Sidecars were on hand with 18 pairs including 1nz, 2nz and 3nz turning on some spectacular racing throughout the night.
Round 1: winners included Stu Priest / Steven Frame (52w) who knocked over current 3nz pair of Derek Ramsey / Tony Hislop, 2nz pair Les Plummer / Kervin Demanser, 1nz Toby Lardelli/ Mike Bond and Clive Ireland / Brendon Webber (56g).
Round two: saw locals Ben McKnight / Daniel Wallace (7g) claim their first win of the season while Ryan Bailey / Glynn Church (69g), Plummer/Demanser and Lardelli /Bond also picked up wins.
The last heat: a real battle with the 1nz bike just holding out the 61g bike of Sefton and Clint Truuts. Russell Stuart / Andrew Parker (46b), Lardelli / Bond, Truuts/Truuts and Dean Miller/ Karl Fogarty (9g) all had wins in this round the Truuts win over the 2nz machine the pick of the races in this round.
The racing was hard and fast with a number of pairings all going under the 16 sec time, the fastest time on the night was a15.7536 set by the 2nz pair in round two. Riders will have at least two more meetings to dial in their bikes before the national championship takes place over the weekend 11th-12th January 08 and if the racing we have seen over the past couple of meetings is anything to go by then we are going to be in for two spectacular nights of Sidecar racing.
